I had a few doubts in mind and would be thankful if You guys can help me out :

* When I've bought a domain is it my personal property for as long as I wish or do I have to keep paying :'(:'( some guy every year or whatever...??

* Similarly for the server hosting companies .... Is it a one time deal or do I have to keep paying :rip: them...??

*Can You guys please suggest some cheap ^_^'and reliable hosting companies..??

* If I want to host my own website what'll be the hardware..etc that would be needed ..Do I need to register with someone ... How do I go about it ..??:8-s::8-s:

* How come I can publicly access the source code of a website I design whereas full source codes are not publicly avlb of many Others. Simply Put How do I change the privacy settings of viewing the source code of a website..?? :'(:'(

* Are there any firewalls or similar kind of software avbl that can act as a buffer between the website and the general cloud...

1. Depends on where you get it, It's most likely a small recurring payment.

2. Same as the above, I can guarantee that you won't find a good host that only asks you to pay once.

3) What kind of hosting you want? Look: http://wrzhost.com/ and http://hosting.mxzon.com/ they are both offshore companies, onshore are usually cheaper.

4) All you need to do is download Apache and then you can host your website on your PC, however, you still need to register a domain

5) You have access only to the design, because that is what is executed while viewing a webpage, there exist some javascripts that try to hide the source, but you can get past them. The real core of the website (php codes) you cannot get.

6) Yes, there are many firewalls, but since you will most likely use a Linux system on your server, your fine with editing IPtables

I downloaded apache .. but how do I configure it .. ?? There are many tuts avlbl on modifying the config.ini file .. to make it work ?
