there is a way yeah but its through websites that require you to do a cirtain amount if work like watch so many video's to gain credits and things along a similar line im not sure but i think this is a website that does this

You used to be able to get free Yearly subscriptions through CC generators and a glitch with MS's German CC processing, but that has since been patched. If you have not registered the 3 free month trials that come withyour xbox console, then you can get some free trials that way.

If you can afford to buy a Dev console, you'll have access to a Dev version of xbox live ( where you can create unlimited accounts and give yourself unlimited MS points) plus have access to downloadable pre-release content. Bearing in mind these cost around £1000 GBP, so are not cheap to buy. And you cannot play on regular Live servers.

I'm more into the Exploit / modding of Xbox consoles and games ( I released several popular public Mods for Halo 2 back in the day). Let me speak to my friend, and i'll see if he has any newer methods of getting free xbox live trials.

1: Buy them. 2: torrent them and burn a disk of them, then use a flashed xbox to play them. do NOT play online or you will be banned within a matter of minutes.
