Should've been done a long time ago to be honest, maybe the £340 million being spent on the family ever year can be put back into the country instead but I doubt that very much! She will get a "royal train" from Scotland to London ffs!!
Just a little information sharing: The money spent on the royal family is done so with the knowledge that the living royal family actually generate more money for the economy than they cost. If your goal is to increase spending money for the government, getting rid of the royals is counterproductive.
To everyone commenting on this thread: I'm a little surprised at how toxic the comments have been. You don't have to believe in monarchy or like every person in that family, but I do think some human decency isn't too much to ask for when someone dies.
I'm not a royalist, but I respect the Queen for spending her life serving the country, for her work towards international relations (especially the commonwealth) and for putting her role before herself. Yes, they are wealthy, yes there are some bad eggs in that family (as there are in any normal family), but the Queen has been a force for good for most. I believe that William & Kate will do a lot more good when their time comes.

Fair enough, maybe my wording was a little harsh and done without detailed research however I don't believe any money from the taxpayers should be spent on them, especially with such a divide in who supports them and who doesn't. I suppose we will never fully understand or know the financial background to what they spend/bring in.

Britain wasn't the only empire to colonize. France, Spain, Portugal... arguably any nation of power did similar. Colonization ended within the first few years of her reign.

If you mean Epstein, blame Prince Andrew. Arguably everyone had ties to him, including the Trumps/Clintons.
