It offers a service of all known compromised passwords, thereby allowing the end-user to make an Informed decision when using a given password during the creation/modification of their account.
The reason I've mentioned not to enter a password you Intend on using, Is because you should "never" share your passwords with any online entity or third-party service. As such, this site can be used as a stepping stone to "significantly" strengthen an already-compromised password that you Intend on using.
There's many reasons to use this website. Personally, being In the capacity of cyber security, this Is very Informative not only for preventative measures when creating accounts, but also Identifying what Is/Is not considered good practice (char length, complexity requirements, sequential combinations and so forth).
Furthermore, those who're cracking accounts (dictionary attack), can use this service to collectively Identify all commonly/widely-used and easy to guess passwords and Include their findings as part of their wordlist.
