We can always try to be more like Facebook and add profile backgrounds. Some people might like the extra element of customization. This would be on the new theme, not the current.

Sounds like a cool element. This was implemented on another forum I was on for a brief stint and I enjoyed it.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Why would you want to be more like facebook? What stops me from just using facebook instead of Sinister.ly? I don't think this is a good idea.

We don't, but I think it'd be nice to let people have a custom background-type deal on their profiles. Why not?

Besides the fact that it doesn't necessarily contribute to forum productivity and you might be bogging down resources that could go to features that contribute to productivity.

It's one extra query, to be honest (is a minuscule amount of time).
