Pornhub Sued for Underage/Non-Consensual Content #1
A few months ago, it had become known that underage/non-consensual content was being hosted by Pornhub. Now the victims are suing the site.

Quote:Pornhub was sued yesterday by 34 women alleging that the site hosted videos without their consent and profited from other nonconsensual content involving rape, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking.

Of the victims involved in the lawsuit, 14 said they were victims of people charged with or convicted of sex crimes, and 14 said they were underage in the videos served on Pornhub.

“It is time for the companies and individuals who have profited off of nonconsensual and illegal content be held liable for their crime,” one of the plaintiffs said in a conference call reported by CNN. “I joined the lawsuit because I seek justice for myself and the countless victims who don't come forward.”

Pornhub’s parent company, MindGeek, which owns or runs over 150 pornographic websites, was included in the lawsuit. Pornhub, which is among the largest pornography websites on the internet, drew scrutiny last December when New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof published a feature alleging that it “monetizes child rapes, revenge pornography, spy cam videos of women showering, racist and misogynist content, and footage of women being asphyxiated in plastic bags.”

At the time, the site reportedly received 6.8 million new videos per year, making it one of the largest video platforms on the web. In the wake of Kristof’s article, MasterCard and Visa investigated the site. The announcement sent Pornhub scrambling, and within two days, the site blocked uploads by unidentified users and removed the ability to download videos (except for “paid downloads within the verified Model Program,” the site said at the time). The changes weren’t enough, though, and MasterCard and Visa both banned it from their payment networks.

This doesn't surprise me.

I've come across countless adult sites with females who appear to be barely 16 years of age.

The biggest pitfall of pornography being free online is that anybody can host anything and you've probably seen some underage women, especially if you've searched for '18 year old', even on sites requiring age verification. It's not impossible or even that uncommon to host underage content on legal sites like Pornhub, Redtube, Bangbros etc. It's best to avoid pornography, anyways. It sets unrealistic standards and expectations, sometimes dangerous ones.

The amount of surprise I had when I originally saw this news was 0. I believe that played a part into why they tried to go "Verified Actors Only", to prevent this from happening.

There was also major criticism when the changes were made. It's hard to enforce and you can't please everyone.

I don't think most people really put the 2 and 2 together that's why, they might've just assumed that they were doing it for money purposes.

Porn industry is insane.

I remember when GirlsDoPorn/MomPOV got shut down. I really liked their work Wink

But it's sad to remember how exploitative the business is, young women selling their body for a couple thousand if not a couple hundred. Some places just a couple bucks and hotel room.

This is just another reminder that the business has ran on exploitation for a long time, I was hoping OF would help get rid of this but it comes with its own problems.

I leak a shitload of OnlyFans and have come across some pretty weird shit, no matter how much they try and filter there will always be a gross side of the internet.
Very young looking women, especially now that girls on their 18th birthday are creating OF accounts. I can only assume some "start early" - disgusting

I've also found with onlyfans they have a hard time filtering out foreign language abuse, a lot of japanese/chinese creators with like 10 subscribers uploading gay-skat behind a $200 monthly paywall.
I can only assume there's some foreign forum/thread/social media these creators use to get subscribers but after having a couple requests/scrapes for their kind of content I sadly now know of its existence.

Not as exploitable or disgusting as selling children on hidden threads on Wayfair. 10k for a couch? There is a massive hidden market for this shit and if you know where to look, you should disrupt their business practices. I've taken down sites for hosting content that the provider disagreed with but didn't federate. It's sickening. NYPA, sure, but when it comes to children, always be the chaotic good that they deserve.
