You wouldn't necessarily tell a stranger irl where you live etc, so why do it online and expect to be safer than you would doing it irl?

I've always said something similar being "Would you hand out pamphlets containing your name, address, phone number, etc to everyone In the shopping mall?". Evidently the answer was no. "Then why do It online?" I asked.
