[Silence]

This was my way of saying, "goodbye" to some friends on a site I used to publish poetry.


For just how long has it been?
How many days have passed
since I was able to write stories by pen?
I know not how long ago, 
nor how long it will be again.

So while I am here,
I wish for all my friends to know that I -
the one who was once so possibly near,
I'm learning more of this world and slowly,
Oh so slowly, I'm losing all fear.

I know that things have all changed,
memories fleeted, tears fallen, people broken,
some feeling shortchanged.
But this is how it should be,
a broken past for a new life we exchanged.

So to all in my past I fare thee adieu,
there were ups and there were downs.
Know this is not because of me, or you.
We all merely grew apart, we found our lives,
so if you read this, don't grow so blue.

To each any every person still around,
take up your instrument of chaos or harmony.
Write your story before silence becomes sound,
tell everyone, everything.
Let others know, by emotions and words, we all are bound.

Nurture the next generation,
feed them words of encouragement;
don't cause them self-defamation.
Give them chances as you once gave me,
show them all the same adoration.

You may see me on a random street,
walking amicably by, with myself or another.
Don't hesitate to tell me all your latest feats,
while I may be gone I am still present -
hidden, but not ceased.

This is it my friends, acquaintances and the like,
the day we all knew would eventually come.
With this final stanza I write,
I begin to end this chapter.
But, where something ends, another shall start alike.
