PS3 firmware 4.46 released, solves 4.45 issues #1
Quote:"Sony Computer Entertainment has released a new PS3 firmware version which is aimed at resolving issues caused by last week's pulled 4.45 update.

The new PlayStation 3 4.46 software version should fix errors relating to the XMB(XrossMediaBar) menu not being displayed on a "small number" of consoles, it said.

The original 4.45 update was released on Wednesday, and then eventually pulled from the PlayStation Network after a number of complaints.

For affected PS3 owners who don't have their console issues resolved by the latest patch, Sony has posted up an official support page.

Players can manually update affected consoles by downloading the 4.46 firmware onto a USB device, booting their PS3 in safe mood, and installing the firmware.

Last week's firmware 4.45 added the ability for users to switch trophy notifications off via the System Settings menu and improved general performance.

The latest patch follows update 4.40, which released in March and introduced wireless stereo headset support for specific applications, as well as improved software stability.

Is it true that one of the last updates had something that was bricking consoles? or was that just jailbroken ones?
