Since people are going to have time on their hands to binge, I'd probably go with really good anime that have some length to them. It's also a pretty dark time, so I would think something with some humor but also interesting themes would be great. My recommendations:

-Cowboy Bebop
-Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
-Darker Than Black
-Trigun
-Durarara

Bit of foreshadowing there, pretty sure anyone who watched this based on your comment would be incredibly confused for the first few hours.

Upon googling, I'm finding a game rather than an anime show. Is there a show or is it just the game?

I'd definitely rec the Fate series + VNs

I'm not watching too much anime at the moment so: BNA pretty good and the animation style is pretty and Kakushigoto

I second Fate and Higurashi, but I suggest you to start watching Psycho-pass, a cyberpunk crime mystery with great characters, story and animation. The view order is as follows:
  • psycho-pass
  • psycho-pass 2
  • psycho-pass movie
  • psycho-pass sinners of the system 1
  • psycho-pass sinners of the  system 2
  • psycho-pass sinners of the system 3
  • psycho-pass 3
  • psycho-pass first inspector

If you begin watching, you will immediately notice the second season is kind of a let down.  And yeah, psycho-pass 2 is the elephant in the room of the psycho-pass franchise as season one sets up the world, asks the important philosophical questions and much more. But don't let it discourage you, it is only 12 episodes, the ending is decent, and what follows is really good. My favorites are season 1, psycho-pass movie, sinners of the system 3, and the first inspector movie, which just released a coupled of weeks ago.

If all else fails, just watch Fate lol

I don't know why, but I had no idea this franchise was so big. Great suggestion! Thank you! I've never really given it much though, but I'll be adding it to my list to try out.

Quick edit: I went to add it to my list on Kitsu.io and the first review that pops up said something like "My mom saw me watching this show and now she no longer calls anime 'kids cartoons'" Lol!
