Authorities were “responding to reports of an active shooter” Thursday morning at the campus of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
“There is a situation going on out there but we don’t have any more information at this time,” said Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dwes Hutson.

Preliminary information indicates 15 people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College in Oregon on Thursday morning, said Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate. The reports indicate that the shooter has been detained, Fugate said.

Yeah I've been keeping up with it all day. While everyone was running from gunfire there was only one person brave enough to run towards it. All these shootings and I wonder to myself why everyone would rather die with a group of people instead of have themselves potentially killed but have the opportunity to save everyone in a room.

I'm the type of person to run towards the shooter and take all the ammunition and possibly die if it meant a chance at saving my fellow Americans. Never been a coward.

So sad to see these things in the news. RIP.
