Well, here's the only experience I've had with Satanists. When I was 15, I had this 16-year-old girlfriend. I took her to my church because at the time that was the only way we could be together. Pretty much the only time we saw each other. Anyway eventually she started getting really stressed right after church, eventually asked her what was wrong because, even being 15, I cared about her. She actually told me straight out that she "hates church", and that she wanted to kill the preist... previous to this I had no idea she was satanist, she previously identified as agnostic which I didn't mind. Eventually she got worse, went to drug use (cocaine, possibly crystal meth) and cutting, verbally abusing me over the phone and in person. She told me if I left her she was going to kill herself, and she actually kept me under her shit for 3 months. Eventually I just stopped responding to her for a week, made her think I died. Haven't seen or talked to her since, but her friends say she's "okay".
So my opinion on satanism would be a bit biased.

To me, it's actually really weird but like you said it's their life and if they believe in that I got no problem with that. "Live and let live". BUt yeah, I think it's weird.
