i feel like the pace goes up at water seven arc which is arround 200ish episodes

I'm a bit late to this but it starts slower than most anime and has slow parts in between. I'd say if you can get past the first 200-300+ episodes it gets a little faster. After the timeskip like with most anime it's amazing but still a lot of great arcs beforehand.
