Chances are, two 970s will still be better than a single 1070. When they said that one is better than two in SLI, they most likely cherry picked a specific setup, such as comparing it to something that doesn't scale well in SLI and overclocking the 1070 and running it against stock speed 970s. The 1070 will be better than a single 970, but I'm going to wait for benchmarks before jumping on the hype train.

AMD did the same thing with the Fury X.

I will get it and make a little review about it.
I will also upgrade my processor and RAM at the same time.

I think a 980ti is better than 2 970sli

So I would assume 1070 is a lot better lol

I actually haven't looked into the release info that much. Did they say that a 1070 will be as fast as a 980 ti? I've only heard that the 1080 will be faster than a Titan X.

the 1070 outperforms the titan x in VR. 1080 outperforms it completely.

1070 and 1080 are both outperforming the 980ti they claim. Again have to wait for real benchmarks.

Ah, alright. I hadn't heard that. If their claims are true then that's a pretty significant leap in just a year's time. But yea, best not to jump on hype until benchmarks arrive.

I can run Battlefield 4 on ultra and get no less than 90fps, but GOD FORBID if I get on TF2 my fps is around 50-58.

What cpu do you have btw, if you are just gaming it might not be worth upgrading seeing as AMD Zen is coming and also directx12 is much less intensive on CPU.

They wouldn't just make a WAY better and faster card for that low of a price out of the kindness of their hearts..

Maybe just advances in current technology I guess? Either way my GTX 970 SC will do me just fine.

I sound so much like an AMD fanboy with all my posts but my guess is that they are scared of what AMD will bring out so they are trying to kill AMD off.

Yes, that's fair enough.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply.
