Not sure about a virus on your Computer? #1
Are you not sure about viruses on your computer.
Here are signs of viruses:
  • Computer extremely slow (due to background work caused by virus)
  • (Sometimes)Computer asks to download an antivirus to "remove" the infection, the truth is that "program" is a "rogue" (fake program, just to get your personal data)
  • Anti Virus program warns a lot as virus downloader downloads(or is downloading) an actual virus or virus is infecting other files(making them detectable or virus replicates itself(copies in multiple directories)
  • Files starts to disappear (due to deleting).
  • You hear strange noises from your speakers (virus downloaded a .mp3 file and started playing or a hidden site was opened with musical content)
  • Wallpaper on your desktop was changed
  • Camera starts on unexpectedly (you know this only if your cam has a light infront to show when it's working)
How to know you have one:
Unfamilar files appearing on your computer.
Computer slowing after downloading illegal files.

Thank you, but a sign may also be (on Win 7 & Vista) that Win Aero is disabled, as some RAT's use this to give the RATer a better performance when monitoring the desktop. You can add this if you feel like Biggrin

A lot of malware, such as rouge AV's will also disable or circumvent tools designed to detect it, making if very difficult to spot or remove. If you are infected with a rouge av, I suggest downloading rkill and naming it to explorer.exe or iexplorer.exe, as most rouges will allow these to run.
