hey guys. i'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a new and aspiring hacker/programmer. i would really appreciate some mentoring in either or. sorry if i sound like a real noob because i kinda am.

Welcome to HackCommunity! I could give you a few advices but i can't promise that i will be online all the time, i have a lot of things to do atm.
But start out with checking my tutorial called "Where to start with hacking!", you can search for it or find it in my signature.
If you still are unsure about where to start or have some quesitons, PM me or add me on skype. You will properly get a faster reply if you are sending a PM, but i will be able to have a more personal conversation through Skype, it's up to you.

hey guys, thanks for the welcome. one quick question: do VPNs make this forum not work? because i am using hotspot shield as my school blocks many sites like this. but when i use hotspot shield, whenever i scroll down a page the page dims and i am unable to interact with the page.
