I think my only reason for going back to this is the incredible amount of streaming services you have to subscribe to in order to watch "all the relevant and popular" stuff. HBO, Hulu/D+, Amazon, Netflix, AppleTV... I stopped paying for a TV subscription to save money because it was expensive and I was interested in watching episodes 2-3 times a week. Netflix is done because the streaming market became the TV market, and people leading markets act as if they believe that they can sell their products to every single human alive.

Onto the real topic of the thread, for whoever cares to read someone else's opinion:
And while I think they actually know that growth can't be infinite, and they can't sell to EVERYONE, they do know they can maximize it and will do it for as long as possible by adding absolutely everything they can to it. Which is why they will continue adding content that is not for everyone. The ex-Netflix employee that made one of the big twitter threads made this very clear, while they are uploading stuff that they don't like, e.g. Chapelle, Netflix continues to promote documentaries and other stuff that DOES fit with their views (https://rainofterra.com/it-was-never-abo...ee8b765978). Let's be honest, a lot of people don't like Disclosure documentary because it doesn't feed into their cultural biases. Will globalization eventually blur the lines between cultures so much, that these biases will be international one day? Maybe. Some mixed-feelings on this one, but what do I know.

Netflix is gonna promote whatever makes them money. And it's making them money because most people like viral, visceral, shocking, polarizing, surprising and/or politically incorrect stuff, and if it feeds into their biases, even better. How people find any of those adjectives interesting depends on a lot of personal and cultural stuff, and if that weren't true, News channels wouldn't inflate stories and wouldn't broadcast talk shows that are categorized as entertainment, and it would be a lot harder for clickbait, fake news, trolling and satire to exist as well. Every VPN for a while had it's selling point as being able to unlock the regional content of other countries in Netflix, you can hop on a VPN and see how DIFFERENT the content they push is depending on the country you jump to. They were likely, if not surely, publishing stuff much harder and more "offensive" than Dave's special.

Netflix and every other company with an investor board has the only goal of making their investors and key people money. If you don't want to work at a company that will NOT put your personal beliefs over profits, quit, because a half-assed apology is the only thing that's coming out of it, before the next money-grab. Will this ever change? Maybe. Perhaps when the new generations get hold of most of the money, and that's if the stuff the current money-holders do hasn't rubbed on them already.

I definitely support when people make a fuss when they are harassed, targeted, marginalized, insulted and all that stuff. To the Netflix employees I say, you made your fuss, quit and move to a company where you feel better, companies that try to cater to everyone for max-profitability can only be worked at for so long anyway, mercenary style. And to Netflix I say, I ain't paying a dime because too expensive.

I would love to reply to you but i dont have the time to read your reply at the moment. Im looking forword, to give you an answer on saturdady

Not to mention the rise in price of their services in the last year... and the consideration of removing account sharing. Best of luck to them!

I've heard for a few years that they've been getting worse internally. Originally years ago it was apparently one of the best companies to work for, but that's all changed with money I guess

Another 300 workers have been fired from Netflix, it's coming to an end.

If you quit instead of getting fired they don't have to give you money for time off right?

To be honest Netflix has fallen out of my favor these days. I honestly stay away from any main stream services ( except youtube ) because I'm tired of having leftist and gay pride propoganda shoved down my throat every 5 minutes.

It does feel like media in general has become very polarized when it comes to American politics/agendas. Maybe it's always been this way.
