I don't see what's so good about anime. Or even properly what it is. Can someone explain?

Personally, Anime is for me to 'escape reality' and/or entertainment. I mean, What's so bad about anime? Why do people reject anime?

Hi everyone i was wondering if you could recommend me a new anime to watch some that i like so far that ive seen are Soul eater, Full metal alchemist, Death Note, Hellsing ultimate. Just Recommend to one and thanks a ton!
