Need a cooling system #1
So, my pc gets hot as fuck. What's the best way to cool it off and keep it that way without limiting system performance? I know cleaning it out and making sure I have fans helps, but that isn't enough. My budget is about $50 and I prefer amazon as the store.

Jew-rig a water cooling system.

Basically, you need a conductor to transfer heat from the PC to a body of water, then physics makes it harder for it to heat up.

Fluid cooling would be the best idea, but also remember to make sure that your tower is sitting thightly closed, or else the air flow might get changed, and it will heat pc up instead of cooling it down. You should also check that the PC have at least 5 - 10 cm of free space behind it, so the fans can catch "fresh" air.

I used to have this small platform with a built in fan, and you just set your laptop on it and it keeps it cool and your lap cool

Diagram? And my pc gets shaken sometimes, as I have my desktop sitting on my headboard of my bed for lack of space, so it may not be plausible.

I'll go find the hammer to fix my door then...

I'm using a desktop. My shitty xp laptop doesn't get as slow as my desktop when its hot though, actually.

And I can spend money, so if there is I can buy some kind of pre-made setup that will cool it off, that would be awesome. Also, would some good heat transfer compound between my cpu and its heatsink/fan setup thing help enough to make a difference? I had some on it a long time ago, but I believe I wiped it off because it had turned to powder after a few years.
