NHL restricts players from Olympics 04-07-2017, 01:00 PM

I don't have much to say other than this sucks. I get that letting the organization dictate players' attendance to external events is probably in their contracts, but I think the NHL really screwed this one up. The Olympics are supposed to be a competition featuring the world's best, and this decision takes that novelty and really, the competitive edge, away from Canada, America, Russia, and others.
I'm interested to see how this effects NHL rookie numbers and changes in Olympic rosters.

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
