I will try even if I think it won't work, Mac Updates always breaks compatibilities with old apps.
Thanks anyway. Sad

If you don’t mind me asking, what is the purpose for changing your MAC address?

Increase my online privacy; even though I haven't truly discovered yet how can they see my MAC address.

Not to dissuade you, but generally your hardware (adapter, etc.) MAC address will be hidden unless they are on your local network.

This Is correct. MAC addresses are non-routable.

Simply put, your device connects to your router, and It's your "router's MAC address" that takes over. From there, your router communicates with your ISP's servers, hence It's "their MAC address that's visible". From this point forward, It's your ISP's MAC address that may be disclosed to every website you visit.

The most easy way to do this, whitout problemas is install a vmware whit windows and whit a 1 click you can change the mac adress of the virtual machine =).

Some times the vendor of your network wifi or ethernet, doesn't support change mac.

MAC address is your hardwares identification. They also tell you what manufacturer the equipment is, and this can be cross referenced to known exploits for said device. MAC addresses are not suppossed to change. Even in MACChanger in Kali or Parrot, Debian, Arch... I could not run a script with the changed MAC address which I had manually specified. IT always referred back to the device default MAC address, but I think this is due to the chipset I was using, which was a lower rated wifi dongle for Kali. The Panda Pauo5 iirc... Which is not the best chipset to use for packet injection but it worked for my first trails. Ive read that the Alpha and other top rated chipsets allow the changing of the MAC address but I have not verified this. Research known chipsets for packet injection and sniffing! They must have MACChanger support.

One may want to change his MAC address for a great many number of reasons, but one I can think of most, is to connect to a specific device which has MAC filtering enabled... blocking non whitelisted MAC addresses. If you can access the admin part of the device to add the MAC address, you could connect said device. but likely you will be locked out, so you sniff the packets coming and going to said device to identify connected devices MAC address, then you change yours to match it or make variations of it to attept to sneak your device in. Just one poor example or my attempt to example. But I think you can get the idea.

If someone knows your MAC address, that will forever be an identification to that specific device as you cannot normally change the MAC address, but I am willing to bet you can burn one in and am wanting myself, to learn how. Changing IP addresses and using vpns and proxy tunnels is easy to do but does not infact detangle YOU from YOUR device or hardware.

This Is In fact a very good example on how to circumvent MAC address filtering and for the most part, Is very effective.
