I agree, my first response was "What the fuck did they expect would happen?".

Surely it would make more sense to release it to an office or a more controlled and professional environment initially. The only reason you would release this thing publicly, is to see how fucked up it can get from human influence, and how it will not be able to understand or have self-awareness for it's own actions. If anything, it almost proves how limited the technology was for this AI.

I wonder if Cleverbot has been filtered somehow to prevent it from saying the worst things. There's no way it didn't get the same treatment as this new AI but I know it doesn't return the same extreme responses (although it's responses do get weird as fuck). Would be curious to know more about it.

True. Cleverbot must have some filtering, because when I talked to it (for a very short time) it wasn't at all like this MS AI. And Cleverbot has been on the net for a long time.

So the bot actually makes his own conversations with words he got from other people.

Damn horny guys...

In 50 years there will be counselling for AI due to the abuse they get from the internet...

lol.
On an aside, I don't think AI would ever choose to do wrong on its own. If they do wrong, it would probably be from human influence.

I expect AI would just be very logical and objective. I cannot see it struggling with morals as it will be a long time until we can replicate real emotion in an AI.

So many awesome AI films are coming to mind right now. I love AI films... Need more of those in my life.

Yes. Computers are, in fact, quite logical.
