Meta receives record fine in the EU for data transfer to the US - $1.3 billion 05-23-2023, 04:13 AM

The Irish Data Protection Commission has imposed the largest fine of its kind on Meta and has ordered the company to cease transferring user data from Facebook to the US.
The European Court considers such transfer of EU citizens' data to be a violation of their privacy and not in compliance with GDPR.
The fine amount is €1.2 billion, setting a new record in the EU.
