Well, I use Linux so I can't use Havij and I don't think I would anyways because it's not as flexible as sqlmap.

Nothing wrong with using a pre-made tool. Writing a program that does the exact same thing as an existing program just so one won't be considered a "skid", is just being a "kiddie"

Havij is shit on mostly because there are people out there who are probably under the age of 13 who claim to be l33t h4x0rs because they know how to use it, People hate on them, Then others see people hating on them and probably figure they are shitting on Havij itself thus starting the Havij hate train. Personally I don't like to see people using tools like this because (For me atleast) it takes a majority of the fun out of "Hacking".

The only thing that should matter to everyone else is the end result. The process should only matter to the person doing it.

If the resources are out there, then use them. That goes for everything. No need to prove your skills to anyone. You won't find me sewing my own clothes when I can buy them at a store.

It's just important to understand for yourself that knowing the process to that result is both invaluable and crucial in expanding your horizons.
