MSI Aegis 3 Upgrade #1
Hello
I want to upgrade my GPU from the MSI Aegis 3. It's a wellknown relative small Desktop.
The problem is that i don't even know if it's upgradeable because of the length of the Graphic Cards these days.
At the moment i am using a GTX 1050TI. is there someone who knows what the best GPU is that I can buy to upgrade my Desktop.
Take into account that the Case isn't that big.

I would check the current dimensions of your card, and also note the required power. You may need to upgrade your PSU, as well.

Something like this may be to your liking:

From what I can tell on the MSI website, there are different models of the MSI Aegis 3. I saw one PSU with an output of 450 Watts. That's not great for a gaming build.

Most pre-builts have cheap power supplies. A lot of newer graphics cards require at least a 500W PSU.

If you provide the dimensions of your current GPU, it would help.

Desktop: MSI Aegis 3 7RB-045EU
Current GPU: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/637353/m...ificaties/
Dimmensions: 229mm x 131mm x 39
Power Supply: 450Watt

Note: The gtx 1080ti Gaming needs 250Watt, should this work with my Power Supply?

If he upgrades to that 1080, he will not have enough power at 450W. That said, he can upgrade the PSU.

The Zotac 1080 I linked earlier is even smaller. How many watts is your current PSU?

Power Supply 450 Watt and my current GPU only uses 75Watt. Most of the new GPU's use 300+ i guess.
Any recommendations? Need one that's better than the 1050TI Gaming 4G and doesn't use to much Power Supply

Is it possible to upgrade your PSU? There are many great PSUs under $60 or $70 for about 600W.

Hmm i will think about that. Are CPU and RAM sticks also using a lot of power supply? Or aren't they

If you're against upgrading the PSU, you should be able to run a 1070:

Even then, you may be able to scrape by with a 1080. Would need to know your current power consumption.

I would say the CPU is the second most taxing on your PSU. Most modern CPUs use at least 75W. But RAM barely uses anything from the PSU.
