I find the R.A.T to be very uncomfortable - I personally use a Hama uRage mouse.

an i7 4xxx? how much did you pay for that? I'm running an AMD Athlon II x3, that goes at 3.4ghz, costs around 60 Euros.

If I may recommend a headset, I'd go with TurtleBeach. They make really good ones, and most of them don't even go past 100$ in price.

My plan is to roll with my crappy current computer and Linux until I get enough money to actually build a good gaming rig, and have my own apartment.

I've tried comfortable turtle beaches on and they are way out of my price range. The midrange ones by turtle beach hurt my ears and head after 2-3 hours of solid gaming. The razer kraken pros are one of the most comfortable headphones ive ever tried on. A friend of mine bought a pair and i tried them on. He let me borrow them for a day, i used them 6 hours straight. No fatigue or anything.

I personally bought the RAT mouse because i could custom fit it to my hand. I have large hands and i could expand it to fit my hand.

The i7 4770k i got for like 425 bucks. Expensive as fuck, but worth it. Mostly got it because of hyperthreading.

okay. I don't have baby hands, but not big ones either, so I guess normal mice will fit me quite well.

The things is, what do you use the rig for? Intel tends to be better for multitasking, but if you're playing games or such, an AMD will give you the same performance for cheaper.
