Kremlin drone attack #1

Code:
A dramatic statement from the Russian presidential administration claimed that Ukraine had used two drones to attack the Kremlin - at the heart of Moscow - overnight.

Russian forces apparently used radar equipment to disable the drones. There were no casualties, and the president was unhurt, it said.

But the Kremlin did call it "an assassination attempt" against Vladimir Putin.

A number of videos then surfaced. They appear to show at least one drone flying towards the Kremlin, followed by an explosion. Another appears to show smoke rising from a Kremlin structure, and a fire. The BBC has been unable to verify that it was a drone and it is unclear what really happened.

While the BBC tries to be as objective as possible and verify information itself, please keep in mind this news source will be somewhat British-centric.

What are you thoughts on the incident? Who do you think is responsible? Is this something that concerns you or do you think it's a minor issue within the ongoing Ukraine-Russia War?

Not as though it would be the first assassination attempt. Wouldn't be surprised if the situation was fabricated to justify some form of retaliation.

I could easily believe it was indeed a government sanctioned assassination attempt covered up, but I could equally believe it's some BS to spin a narrative. Or it could be a moron acting alone thinking they have a great idea. xD

I don't think it was fabricated by the Russians to justify their actions. After all, they are hated by NATO anyway. I think it was done by some paid agent just to pass the messege "you are not safe anywhere".

US denies involvement, Russian administration is using this drone attack as a justification to intensify their own offensive against Kyiv. Correct me if I am mistaken, but a video was posted hours ago on Youtube that shows the alleged drone crashing onto Kremlin's rooftop without inflicting much destruction. What happened to Kremlin's air defense which was installed months ago there? If US was indeed involved, why wasn't the attack more precise? It just seemed like a warning.

I was thinking similar. It looked almost too "unprofessional" to have been a serious attack. I'm not entirely convinced it was a government sanctioned action. I could easily see a smaller group being responsible.

Must not be Ukrainian, highly possible to be NATO

Interesting! What makes you think it's NATO over Ukraine?

I feel like if it had been NATO, then Russia would have gone from that angle all along. Also seems to clumsy to be a NATO sanctioned effort. It would be a great way to fail miserably whilst starting WW3. xD

I'm actually with you on that. I just assumed I was ignorant of what a drone strike looked like. Though, drones themselves aren't particularly large. A blast would have to depend on what was attached to the drone right?

I'm no expert, but I'd assume that military grade drones are probably larger and more robust than what is available to the general public. It's possible the projectile didn't pack a heavy payload? I really don't know. the ukraine-russia stuff is bizarre to me. Both sides of that war say they're winning. Bizarre.

I supposed the claims of winning are typical of war-based propaganda.
