Kazakhstan government is now intercepting all HTTPS traffic #1
Quote:Starting Wednesday, July 17, 2019, the Kazakhstan government has started intercepting all HTTPS internet traffic inside its borders.

Local internet service providers (ISPs) have been instructed by the local government to force their respective users into installing a government-issued certificate on all devices, and in every browser.

The certificate, once installed, will allow local government agencies to decrypt users' HTTPS traffic, look at its content, encrypt it again with their certificate, and send it to its destination.

At least they are not hiding it.

Ransomware is more about manipulating vulnerabilities in human psychology than the adversary’s technological sophistication.

Why would Kazakhstan want to do that? The internet situation in Central Asia/Asia is really broken...

Invasion of privacy at It's best.

If they had reason to Intercept traffic, fine, but I don't see the logic behind this.

I don't believe anyone should Intercept traffic without reason.

There would be no reason too... with a few adjustments in our societal structure.
