Kali gets a bad reputation for what it is, simply because of the people that use it. It's just a distro with some pre-installed apps. There's nothing inherently wrong with it (or the apps).

However, there's plenty of people that know how to add repositories and use the tools properly. For some, Kali might be more convenient as a distro. For others it's just Debian with bloatware.

Blackarch is slowly closing in on the first place,
claiming kali and parrots first place,
despite being like decades more new,
and despite being designed for intermediate to pro level linux users.
and also, blackarch is command line only most of the time.

and even basic ubuntu is much better than kali. boring, yes, but easy to use and atleast more fun then kali/debian.

You make too many generalizations. I'd argue the popularization of Arch has led it to a similar circumstance. There's many people that fail to read the documentation and shouldn't be using Arch, either.
