Kali Linux now released - thoughts? #1
As I have been hearing, Kali linux (Backtrack 6) has now been released. Before everyone start's saying it's a script kiddies wet dream come true or anything within the likes of that, I want to talk about what are the pros and cons of this distro.
Learning is the easy part. Putting it to use...now that's the hard part which still isnt very hard but is limited to your imagination.

"The Kali distribution includes Metasploit, Wireshark, John the Ripper, Nmap, Aircrack-ng, and others to provide a security testing suite you can easily boot up from a Live CD. The distribution comes in not only 32- and 64-bit flavors, but also works with ARM-based systems as well. That means Kali can run on some Chromebooks and even the Raspberry Pi. Check out the Kali site for the official downloads and more information."

I'm currently tri-booting Win7, Win8 and Linux Fedora. I'm contemplating on quad-booting with Backtrack. Haha.

I run both Kali and Backtrack 5 in virtual machines and from live cd. They are both great pentesting distros. I think the best new feature of Kali is the debain compliancy, which allows any tool to be called from anywhere in terminal. It also allows for much easier and automatic package and OS updates. I havent came accross any cons, and I see no reason not to use it instead of Backtrack 5.
Pay respects to the malformed SYN packet.
