Kali Linux - KDE 04-12-2013, 07:52 PM
#1
Hi all,
just wanted to let anyone interested know, with the help of this site
I was able to build a KDE version of Kali.
why?
KDE has many more interface options than the Gnome interface...namely i could not tinker with my system bar or add extra bars and tinker with them, and i really dont feel like having to install docky.
other notes :
there were major problems for me, i did not have wicd or any other network manger installed, so I had to set up my eth interface manually.
the packet manager was not installed, so that had to be done manually, and you have to add extra sources (repositories) manually
the ksound widget is giving me issues..I had to use alsamixer to check if my sound was actually working, after that I installed gnome alsa mixer to manager my sound.
after installing the pulse audio files and manager my virtualbox sound is now working, combined with alsa as the second card..somehow?
