I know a bit of java as I have learned in uni but only the basics. Should i continue with Java or switch to python?

I use both languages. The server side of our large-scale projects is programmed in Java because it's much faster than Python. Our Android mobile apps are also Java. However, Python is handy for the "web side" and AI/ML projects. I found Python easier when I worked on Big Data.

If you have to pick, I'd go with Python just for its broader use cases.
