RE: Is University worth it? #2
Went to university where i studied for 5 years (both bachelors and masters degree).
Came out both thankful and disappointed at the same time. You learn many skills including how to research topics and how to study hard (something i really struggled with) but i found that many of the courses you go through won't necessarily give you skills you can take with you on the job market or in your business ventures.

Of course it varies depending on what you decide to study but many skills are best learned in real life outside of academia and in most cases you will get those skills when workplaces take a chance on you and employ you.
You will aquire skills that are directly applicable (be it business ideas/skills or as a skills general co-worker).

Many professors center their courses around themselves and their work and it may or may not have very little to do with skills other people can live off of in the job market.

additionally i'd add that me myself i would say that maybe 10-20% of what i learned from my university years is something i've applied in some way on my future ventures and that is the case to many people including classmates, but to most of them that is enough and makes it worth it but by no means is university the only way out into a succesful career or business venture.
