Google is one of the biggest companies in the world with massive amounts of power over the internet.
If their servers were to get compromised then it would prove to be extremely troublesome for all the users and the company themselves.

(And yeah I hold the idea that the barge is the new location of Google's servers)

Google obviously thinks they're so awesome that they need their own military. By the looks of things they're starting with a naval force.
Look out guys. Soon there'll be guns that fire ad links into our brains!!!

(In all seriousness, though, they're probably throwing servers onto a cargo ship and keeping them off-shore)

It would really suck if that was the case, google currently has the power to start a small army and take over America.

I'd never thought about it like that before.

You're right, they really could launch a legitimate attack on the US with the kind of power over the real and cyber worlds.

Indeed.
Maybe we should spent some time investing in anti-Google missile systems?
I recon a low-orbital DDoS cannon should do the trick.

OT: Yeah the thought is actually kinda frightening. If Google decided to go rogue military then I'm pretty sure the entire world would be fucked.
