No, I'm not asking you to invest in some scam. I've been reading about different types of incomes and was researching about long term and short term investments. I'm looking to buy land later on but at this point I don't have enough money for down payments.
If you have investments, what are they? If you don't, what do you want to invest in?

Stocks and cryptocurrencies, I have a nice little app that has a discord bridge for signals and detecting high volume trades (shorts). If you want more info just shoot me a pm on here on discord (johnathon#3075).

I used to actually invest in Team Fortress 2 items back when the game was at peak popularity. Lots of money involved. Cryptocurrency serves well too. As weird as this sounds, old-school radio technology. Not as much anymore but back about 8 years ago that would have been the smartest decision ever made.

I am intensely curious towards real estate, particularly in flipping residential and home ownership with high interest rate and quick return on investment. It should be noted that an individuals of tall net worth without doubt straightforwardly have no time to do such an activity since its consuming business venture (eg analyse the market and research for a decent opportunity or social engineering a buyer) yet they are highly interested investing acquisition cost with of course the intention of selling it for a profit. Priority should be on rapidness as opposed to make a killing. Because more period that passes costs you more funds to fork on a property taxes, utilities, mortgage, insurance.

Depends if you're looking for short-term or long-term investments. Long term, go with stocks, mutual funds, gold/silver. Just put a little in from each check and eventually your money will start making you money. I'm a big fan of cryptos as well. They're more short-term, higher risk though. I have most of my money invested in smaller coins, where I can put down like $100 and have 10k+ coins. Do some research on the companies before investing of course. Then sit back and hope for the best in the next couple years. Short term stocks are great if you can find solid ones, just keep in mind the taxes. Someone I know basically rolled over their entire 401k into AMD and Invidia stocks a couple years ago before the big crypto-boom. Needless to say he's sitting pretty now.

You could also look into your own skill set and see if you might be able to fix and flip. I have a buddy that buys classic cars, go through local junkyards, old shops, ebay, etc. and buys the parts to fix them. Repairs most of the body work himself with bondo/welded panels, then takes them to a local trade school to have the kids finish his work and paint for dirt cheap. Not sure how much he really returns, especially considering time, but I do know he does make a profit. His last flip was an old Nova. Bought two of the same year from an older couple who had the same plan. Spent $3000 on both cars, put about $1500 in body, paint, and parts, and sold it for like $14000 a couple months later. I think he only actually worked on the car for less than a week, the rest was waiting on the school to finish up (they have to learn as well afterall).

I'm not saying go flip cars, but maybe you can do something similar. I see people put out old lawn mowers, appliances, furniture, etc. out for trash all the time. If you have the space it wouldn't take much to fix them and flip them. I guess it's not really an investment since it requires work, but an easy-ish source of income nonetheless.

Someone mentioned flipping houses. Definitely do-able, if your credit is on point. Also you should probably quit your day job, because it's time consuming, and you won't profit much if any if you're paying someone else to do all the work. I also feel like that's a hard market to profit in, since every housewife and handy man watch HGTV and want in. You're likely buying a house someone has already "flipped" unless you get a real estate license and purchase through foreclosure sales. Most of the time you can't view to property prior to purchasing, so hope for the best with that I guess.

TLDR; Buy stocks/cryptos, or buy items/property to restore. One requires time and energy, the other doesn't.

@"FreightTrain" is the 401k really an investment? It's only taking money from your current paycheck and saving it for later. Also, with the person who works hard on the cars (using a skill set). As you said it isn't so much an investment but it's something that can pay well, which could fund other investments.

@"coup de grâce" you said that you're particularly interested in flipping homes and selling them, but you also mentioned that the jobs have to be done quickly or else you'll pay more fees like taxes and insurance. Wouldn't that be more like a normal job than investment though?

@"johnathon" (and freight train), you both mention stocks and cryptocurrencies. When the opportunity to invest in those options, does it come easy to put your money into them? For example there are people who focus their entire life on trading, but they know all the tips and tricks to succeed, but for many people they can't really say what the company or the market may do next. Wouldn't investing in stocks and cryptocurrencies be kinda like gambling?

@"M00N66" buying items on TF2 (played it a bit back) and watching as the prices change on the market is a really creative way to make money, you get to do something you love while making some money. About your old-school radio comment, I read a book about someone who used to import them and sell them as a business. He mentioned how there was a lot of money there at that time.
Sorry for the late reply guys. Also thank you for the wonderful responses!

if you're looking for guaranteed money over a long period of time start paying into a Roth IRA. start now and you'll be able to take full advantage of the compound interest.
