Guys it will take you 5 minuets to read this i would like to ask you please read as there is some cool information that you might only every find out in this thread here!
(1).Were Your Initial Plans To Create a Hacking Forum?
No, I was tired of the hacking scene after being a part of it for quite sometime. I love graphics, even though i am not so good at it. We planned to start a graphics community before hc was created. I had started the site along with Coder-san and SoulStealer (both great at graphics) and gave the name visualforums.com. We failed at the graphics purpose since we advertised visualforums.com on wrong sites and instead got people who liked hacking. So the ratio of hacking and graphics threads was 4:1, due to this we thought it was best to change the site theme to hacking. Thus "hackcommunity.com" was formed.
I'm still up for the idea of gfx community especially now that I have some experience as an Admin. I'm infact working on a website for artists and gfx lovers so they can share their works. But its a very big project and will take long before its out. Its like coding some part of youtube with only images, ALL ALONE.... haha.
(2).At Any Stage Of Your Journey Did You Feel Something Wasnt Going To Plan?
There's always ups and downs in a website. You guys don't know but hackcommunity.com has faced some bad shit and still we come back better each time, this is what i think helps the overall growth of the site.
=> Just after starting Hackcommunity.com our server crashed and lost all the database we had, lost 4000 posts 2000 threads and few thousand members. But still we started the site again and came back even better.
=> In my country paypal was limited soon after starting hc again and so I could not make any payments to my hosts. I was planning to run the community on all my paypal funds gathered over the years. But it was all useless since paypal was going to be limited. Even got scammed for few hundred bucks while transferring payments from Paypal to Alertpay. Alertpay has really been a life saver though god knows how we got over that one.
=> We had some security breaches, but due to this we managed to secure the site. Made some blackhat friends that helped securing the site.
=> We had ddos attacks, but we got better servers to minimize those attacks.
=> We had some noobs trying to take down the sites and threatening us, but we still are here.
You know what they say, there's always some good in the bad.
(3).Who Would You Consider To Be Respected Members of the Community?
I think every regular member here is a respected member. Although there have been some gems for the community who lead to the success of hackcommunity, when it was completely new. Th3Proph3t, Enc0de, 1234Hotmaster, 1llusion, V1p3r, darkscorpion, Hav0c, Frooxius. Most of them aren't active now, but their contribution to the community will never be forgotten.
(4).Are You Satisfied With The Road So Far ?
Yes and No. Traffic wise its going as expected, we are actually doing pretty well and also we have got the PR3 which is somewhat difficult to get without warez and any kind of illegal stuff.
Posting quality wise, not satisfied so much. The problem is most people that come here aren't from English speaking countries, and we are an English speaking community, so that affects the activity. Some or i'd say most people come here from other hacking sites and try to make this place like those sites. "Hack Forums" being one of them, its a big community with lot of members so its only natural everyone in the hacking scene is associated with "Hack Forums" some or the other way, myself being one of them. I am not concerned with Hack Forums, anymore since HC is all that matters to me now. But sometimes I wish we were the older site in this niche.
(5).If you were to suddenly leave the forum for personal reasons, whom would you trust to give up your position to?"
I would try not to, because If I do then its most likely the end of HC, atleast at this stage. I can handle the site currently so I will try to run the community as best as I can. I even failed some of my college exams for HackCommunity. Thats how dedicated I am to it. But still in case if I do, I will put the community for auction on some professional sites and see to it that the owner takes care of the community.
(6). have the previous ddos attacks on the site ,made you want to shut it down incase of any stronder attacks ?
If the attacks are too much for me to handle then I might think, the host is quite efficient right now and they have some good architecture that should handle DDOS atacks from an average botnet, but you can never be sure who is going to target you next.
