NSFW board rework or just removed (inactive) #1
Preface: I do not go to the NSFW section.

But -

If you go to literally the first page of recorded NSFW threads, you'll see that it's just OnlyFans.

It's just one type of content. We need a more diverse NSFW section than just OF.
I know this isn't primarily a NSFW site, and is geared more toward Social Engineering and Graphics and Anime.
But this is ridiculous. 45 pages of one type of content and it's all hosted on Google Drive of all places.

NOT Mega.

NOT encrypted.
  • That's a) incredibly stupid and will get taken down quicker than hosting your own webshell with malware on 000webhost and
  • b) kind of lazy. I'm not sure about a possible fix, but I can recommend that if you want your content to remain up, you might choose a torrent or at least Mega upload service
For copyrighted NSFW content like OnlyFans, it could also get Sinister.ly taken down for hosting links to copyright content.
It hasn't happened yet, but there are DMCA complaints coming in the future, I'm sure.
Then we'll just be another site hosting OnlyFans that got DMCA'd.
And, the funny thing is, it's divided between like 3 users that consistently post this type of content
And only one person posted an actual thread not advertising OnlyFans accounts - as for the thread topic itself?

"How and where/when did you lose your virginity?"Confused  Sad

C'mon. We can improve our image greatly by just removing OnlyFans links or by removing the NSFW content entirely.

These days, they're not active anyways.

As I said, everybody is hosting content in encrypted fileshares and torrents because they're much harder to track and remove altogether.

So, yeah. That's it, that's my suggestion. I really don't see a point in having a NSFW section on SL anymore, if at all, ever.

Thanks for reading my shitpost!

The NSFW section exists, simply so pornographic content doesn't end up anywhere else on the board. Hypothetically I could remove the section or micromanage what file hosts people use, but that's never been my goal.

@PrinceSalman and others have made a large amount of posts specific to Onlyfans, so I'll consider making a subsection for that (as it's clearly flooded the section).

I think a good compromise to make it easier would be to limit it to something like Mega where it's encrypted on the server simply to protect users and the site from DMCA. I don't see a point having to micromanage like you mentioned. It would be a lot of work for the moderation team, I think. Users should be allowed to post whatever content, as long as it isn't illegal to link to it like it is for google drive and some other cloud providers. Mega has a great track record of not caring about DMCA complaints.

About 12 years ago Kim Dotcom got arrested and the original Mega was shut down, so there's always a chance that could happen to any site/content. Our hosts do not acknowledge DMCA/GDPR and sites like Google are subject to different laws and regulations. That said, I encourage people to follow the TOS of other sites, but it's of no consequence to the forum if they choose not to.

It's not my aim to ever tell people what hosts they can or can't use, unless they're ridden with ads or malware.

That's perfectly fair and well answered. Thank you.

I've gone ahead and moved all the Onlyfans content to its own section. If there's any remnants of content remaining, feel free to report it.
