Hey guys, I'm new to iphone and I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a way to jailbreak it without having a computer?

As far as I know, it cant be done. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

There's heaps of articles online that "claim" It can be done.

There are always people claiming they have a jailbreak. Often times what it really is is a third party app store signed with an enterprise certificate that just installs other apps also signed with an enterprise certificate. To date, there have been exactly 4 jailbreaks that were possible without a computer: AppSnap, Jailbreakme 1, 2, and 3. These are long outdated though. There currently is a single jailbreak that works with modern hardware and software, but it is not yet publicly available. If you're part of a small circle of developers (and you can prove such a thing), then it will be given to you. If this sounds like you, then you should contact @coolstar on twitter.

Hence I quoted "claim" In my above post. There's so many articles, but their worth remains to be seen.

My stance on this is pretty firm. As the technology has progressed and become more open, it's opened the doors for attackers as well. iOS is an extremely secure operating system, but the more open it gets the more control is put in the hands of the user, at this point a user can install what they believe to be a jailbreak but rather is malware. I despise all these news orgs that will report anyone who claims to have a jailbreak as if he's geohot.

I recommend looking at ios 11.X.X Jailbreak about the current status of jailbreaking a iPhone. To be honest in my opinion i would just get an Android phone and root it. Its capable of way more things when rooted and jailbreaking iPhones may come to an end soon.
