How can I keep him off?
Well, with taking over your network he can do all kinds of things. from hacking without getting caught, to stealing any data and passwords sent unencrypted over your network.
As for stopping it, I would do the following:
--Upgrade your router firmware
--Disable WPS (This is quite vulnerable)
--Disable Guest WLAN's
--Use a strong encryption with a longer password
Less effective, and bypassable, but still collectively annoying:
--Reduce the power output of the router. Most routers ship with the radio blaring. Only needed if you have a large house or thick walls.
--Stop Broadcasting the SSID
--Mac Filtering
--Time Based Filtering. Dont use the network during the day? after bed?set a schedule to disable or enable the wifi only at specific times of the day.
And finally... how often do you use wifi? Most of the day I just sit a desk next to a router. as do many people. some people just have wifi cause their modem ships with it. If youre the only one using it, maybe just get a patch cable haha.
