what is xp in the programming world

Is this implying that XP is still considered 'good' in today's world? (It's not; it's becoming unsupported like all the previous Windows operating systems before it soon, and it has so many other security issues anyways that are now well known.) Here's the question every beginner programmer asks though. My answer would be, are you a good programmer or a bad one, and what are you trying to do in programming? Only then can we tell how good the *language* is.

Your point is right, but, actually, XP is still today the second most used OS if I'm correct. However, I honestly think that it had just nothing to do with this and that he was a random spammer with a question about what "xp" meant.

Only because people get set with their ways. There are people that still believe that old DOS games are better than today's games, and for some games I think the same too. But I'm also certain that 80% of that is because of nostalgia, and the feeling of the "good ol' days."

Being the most used has not much to do with whether it's a good or bad OS though. Some people still use XP because they can't justify upgrading for whatever reason that may be (money, etc...), and some don't upgrade because they've heard other XP fanboys say it is the "best" too, so I take statistics like that with a grain of salt. Even if Windows 8 was the most used today, it wouldn't mean anything to me, because I know that at least 60 to 70 percent of computer users have no idea what they are doing with a computer in the first place...
