I wan't to use eclipse as I am tired of microsoft and their visual studio crap. I want to start fully learning programming by first using only open source applications on my windows 7 PC. Can someone post full tutorial here on how to configure eclipse to run C++ and compile, I already tried using MinGW but I can only create eclipse C++ programs from the hello world template of eclipse. I can't start an empty one due to errors like unidentified "std", and any other iostream command.

Eclipse hard support for c or c++, simply go to add new plugin then choose the eclipse update link and therrerby you get as lot of plugins. Choose eclipse c/c++ CDT plugin And install.
