It does dude, it makes them a bit smaller and it actually converts them into jpgs! Try the site I suggested..

Minus doesn't convert images into jpeg.

LOL Those are two separate images.
One is 497x900 and the other one is 700x1268.
As you can see in the images I linked earlier, Minus does not re-size or convert your images into a jpeg.
