How to set up a MyBB Forum

Things you'll need:

• The latest MyBB release: http://www.mybb.com/download/latest
  
• Filezilla: http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezill...e/download
  
• A webhost with
  • PHP version 5.1.0 or above with XML Extension installed
    
  • MySQL version 4.0 or above, PostgreSQL, or SQLite
    
  • FTP access (or another way to upload the MyBB software to your web server)
    
• A MySQL database
  
• Some time
  
• A brain
  

If you have everything, continue reading.

Step #1 - Uploading MyBB to our webserver
First of all, we unrar the the MyBB package which we just downloaded.
This package will be uploaded to your webserver.

So, we're going to open fillezilla and logging in with the webservers ftp login details:

When you're successfully logged in, we're going to upload the MyBB package.
In the left box, open the directory where you saved and un-rared the MyBB package.

Connect to your webserver and upload all files which are included in the "Upload" folder.
Make sure you upload the files which are in the folder.

Step #2 - Install MyBB and Database Configuration
If you uploaded everything, open up your webservers domain or IP in your webbrowser like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, you know what I mean.
Don't forget to add "/install" behind your URL.

Now we're going to install our forum.
After you clicked "Next" two times, you'll see this page. Make sure, everything is writeable:

If everything is okay, navigate to the next page, where we'll enter our login information of the MySQL Database.
Don't know this information? Contact your server provider!

After you successfully connected to your database, you'll come after some informations to this page, where we enter our forums information:

After we did that, we create a new administrator account for our forum:

And now we're done! We have successfully installed our MyBB Forum!
You can now create your first forum to discuss with your friends and upload a new theme to give your forum a new look!
