How music saved my life [STORY] 06-25-2013, 06:51 PM

If you know me like Wonders, Ryan, or Goon, you know I'm the funniest and most outgoing person to be around.
But only a very very small nibble of you know my story.
But you don't know how music kept me alive here today, and I will be telling that story now.
A day before my birthday, my life was complete. I had everything I could ever ask for. A loving family, an iPhone, a stereo system, and a brand new television. Not to mention my loving mother. We were all very pleased with our lives.
The day of my birthday, my mom went out of her way to spend her entire paycheck on my birthday reservations, gifts, etc. She did everything for me just to make me happy. But through all of this, my mom was very ill. She had a heart disorder that when she was very nervous or something like that, her heart would beat uncontrollably, and possibly cause a heart attack or at worst, cardiac arrest.
My father knew she was doing too much stuff for her heart to take, so he brought her home and we let her take a nap.
This nap lasted for 10 hours, until I had to figure out on my own that she had went into cardiac arrest and died right there in her sleep because her heart was just beating uncontrollably. We were all devastated at this, especially me.
A day after my birthday, we called the local hospital to get her body out of the bedroom and just to get her to a place away from us.
I sat in my bedroom and cried for a week, only drinking water and eating crackers while staring at my family picture with my mom holding me in her arms when I was a baby. I thought right then and the I was not going through this pain, so I decided enough was enough and I was gonna commit suicide. My mom bought me a stereo system which had my phone hooked up to it playing songs and I hadn't turned it off ever since I had it.
I new my moms favorite songs because she made me listen to them on car drives
, and they were in my phone. I was ready to take my life until I heard my mom's favorite songs on my stereo. I sat there and just listened to them thinking about my mom and how she would want me to be a better person than what I was turning into.
So I threw down the razor, looked at myself in the mirror and changes my life from there.
I have been trying to be the person my mother wanted me to be and I will continue to live that way.
I joined ForumJunkies the next month or so and met some wonderful people who made me bring the humor out I once had that my mother laughed at so much.
All that because of music. Music can change a persons life in 1 second, and I'm an example.
Sorry to tell such a bad story, I just thought I would share this to the people who were wondering about me.
