It isn't important at all to me. However if someone were to falsely accuse me of something that isn't true, then it matters because whatever that number is, gives a person a faint first impression.

I don't mind too much, except for when members always judge someone by how much rep they have.
Also, if someone positive reps me, I just usually return the favour. I don't ever hold a grudge against someone for negative repping me, especially if they have a valid reason.

I care for rep because I don't want people to hate me just because I'm in the -neg line. I just honestly talk nicely to that person if I didn't know why he negged, but still if he doesn't want to remove it I understand. But I will surely think about it for a couple of days. : $
