I've been working as a developer for a while now and feel that the code is secondary to the reasoning. It's not all about code, you need to have a good mindset into solving problems and coming up with practical ways to get things done.

The language is only as good as the problem it's trying to solve. Sometimes switching language will help solve problems. I know a few languages well enough to apply for jobs in those areas. But I wouldn't be bothered by what we're compiling, as long as it's fit for purpose.

My greatest advice that I can credit to success in my life is to always master the basics. And when I say master, I think of this quote: “Fear not the man that has practiced 5 thousand kicks 1 time, fear the man that has practiced 1 kick 5 thousand times.”

Learn and master python, deviate from that towards your interests to another language that suits whatever that is. There are so many useful resources that can help you online as people have mentioned here.

If you are competitive, go on LeetCode and grind the leaderboards. Also make connections, don’t forget that you are your greatest asset. Don’t become a slave at coding when you can become well rounded at every aspect in your life. Work out and socialize.

Learn how to find the right people in life, behind every great man lies an even greater team.

Good Luck.
