Post upvote and downvote. Upvotes get you APs and too many downvotes get you warnings. Makes the site self-policed, reducing strain on mods, and rewards HQ posts automagically.

I found this idea pretty cool.

For AP? Definitely not. Maybe just for giggles though.

Silly, giggles are worth more than AP. Hue.

It would be cool to have a vote system, 50 upvotes = 1 AP.

Just another feature to be abused.... What is wrong with reputation? It would be the same thing really, and practically just as useless.

It wouldn't be abused if you get nothing for gaining upvotes or even 1 AP per upvote.

Look at the representation of it implemented in the first post. I could see a less extreme for both of those number ratings. You don't get anything for rep either, but that's independent from it being able to be abused.

Rep is rep and upvotes are upvotes, why is it that you seem to have a problem with every thread that gets posted?

I don't, you'll see some that I agree with. I'm a rationalist though. Why do we need, or what would be the benefit of having an upvote system here? It's like the forums that add a thank system, like system, and all that other junk, when there is already a rep system in place. We, just want more recognition or? What's the advantage of this?

If you can answer that then I might change my opinion of this, but I don't see it being something advantageous. The admin already said it was a no-go, too, so I may not be the only person sharing this point of view.

It would give the users more to aim for, most thanks, most thanks in a topic, it would bring more helpful threads. He said it was a no go for AP, not all together.
