Msconfig does not allow you to delete anything.

Msconfig is in the guide in my second post. It's important to stop the process triggering but doesn't allow you to delete the virus/malware like the Original post explains.

Please use thanks button instead.

So in effect your computer functions fine because it doesn't have a virus/malware running on it but it is still there undeleted on your computer. If you do accidentally click on something infected you may find yourself having to go back to msconfig to turn it off again. Once you have deleted it however you won't need to worry about it ever again Biggrin

It would be cool if you haven't already applied this tutorial to cleaning your computer and take some print screens when you do get round to it.

I'm sure you will have some very nice examples and I want us to have some in the thread, because then I can point out various traits, they always look bogus for obvious reasons.

Im virus/malware free for now, I'll take some print screens next time I get one if we still don't have any picture examples for the thread.

You don't want software sitting around on your pc that you know are bad, some hide from the taskmanager and look or are added to required windows processes, you realy, realy don't want any unwanted software on your pc, certainly if you don't know what they are doing. I suggest you install malwarebytes and a good normal av and keep it running it's worth the spent RAM and processing power in the end Smile
This is what defines many, yet many are not understood by much.

Then you find the virus folder! great! but when you go to delete it, you get that annoying sound and a warning message telling you that you can't delete. I'm gonna show you the simple solution to this without needing to go and download any tools.

Right click properties on the file or folder, uncheck read only.

Try to delete again. If it tells you the same thing that you don't have permission to delete.

This means the virus is actually already running already on your computer.

Press ctrl+alt+delete and open up the processes part of task manager.

Now look through the virus folders at the .exe files and so on, and find the one that is running in your processes, it will have the same name in the folder as it does in the process list.

select the process, click on end process, go back to the virus folder... uncheck read only again. If you have ended all the processes in the folder, you will be able to delete it without any problem.

Problem solved Smile

not to burst your bubble but... Malwarebytes anyone? Seriously Malwarebytes is instalable in almost any situation and is the #1 rated malware removal tool being 99.9998% effective against all forms of malware.......

also if the malware processes are killed and the files are deleted you may break your system since the malware can infect resource processes and core OS files.... Plus what if the malware (like almost all malware today) has persistence then it will just keep coming back upon restart (or after you close the window or folder).
