My router actually forced me to change these details manually when I first connected to it to set-up my internet, but this isn't the case with most, I believe.

That's a good security Implementation put In by the manufacturer.

However, not all Routers are defaulted as such. I think you're correct In that most Routers do not prompt to change the default login credentials.
