Seeing that it is a topic at my cousins Parent Teacher Meetings in the US im thinking its something that maybe should get some attention

I think the real question in this thread was whether there has been any real impact, or whether this is something the media hyped and isn't really real. This isn't to say teachers and parents shouldn't take it seriously, but a realistic approach is warranted.
